Retirement plans in 2021 After working for nearly four decades at Citizens Memorial Hospital and Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation, I announced my retirement, effective Dec. 31, 2021. The CMH and CMH Foundation boards of directors are forming a search committee and will be spending the next several months finding my replacement. I will continue as CEO/executive director through the end of 2021. Three months before we opened the hospital, I started working at CMH in June 1982 as the controller, and I was promoted to chief financial officer in 2003. Two years ago I was named founding CEO Donald J. Babb’s successor, and I became CMH’s leader in January 2020. There are no words to express how grateful I am to have spent nearly 40 years working alongside our CMH family as we’ve grown into the dynamic health care organization that we are today. Although I will miss working with everyone, I think this is the right time for my wife and me to spend more time with family, especially our grandchildren. I also plan to do a little farming and play a few more rounds of golf. Although no one could have imagined the pandemic and the unprecedented year we just finished, I know CMH has a wonderful future ahead because of the talented and extraordinary employees and physicians who are providing exceptional care and showing incredible compassion to our patients, to our residents and to each other every day. I am so thankful and humbled to have been a part of CMH’s amazing legacy.
