Citizens Memorial Hospital | Vitality | Spring 2020

New leaders, new opportunities In May 2019 it was announced that Donald J. Babb, founding CEO/ Executive Director of Citizens Memorial Hospital and Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation, would be retiring after 39 years of service to CMH. The hospital and foundation boards of directors appointed me as Mr. Babb’s successor starting in 2020. I’ve been blessed to have been a part of CMH since it opened in 1982, serving alongside Mr. Babb as the organization’s chief financial officer (CFO). I am thankful for this new opportunity to follow in Mr. Babb’s footsteps and continue CMH’s mission to care for every generation through exceptional services by leading physicians and a compassionate health care team. We honored Mr. Babb with two special retirement receptions on Jan. 4. CMH employees, volunteers, physicians, friends, community members and dignitaries helped us to celebrate Mr. Babb’s legacy of more than 50 years in health care. You can read about those highlights on page 3. Also of special note, on page 4 we share senior leadership changes for 2020. It was announced in June 2019 that Renee Meyer would succeed me as the CFO. Additionally, Michael Calhoun is serving as the chief operating officer for the hospital and clinics, and Beverly Derrickson is serving as the chief operating officer for CMH Foundation. Thank you for choosing CMH as your health care provider. From hospital to clinics, long-term care to home care services, and everything in between and beyond, we take pride in providing the exceptional services and care you know and trust.
