Citizens Memorial Hospital | Vitality | Fall 2019

2 VITALITY Fall 2019 A fond farewell You may have heard recently that I announced my retirement and will pass the torch in January 2020. I have absolutely loved serving our patients and residents for the last 38 years. During that time, Citizens Memorial has grown significantly and has services in eight counties in southwest Missouri, including Benton, Cedar, Dade, Dallas, Hickory, northern Greene, Polk and St. Clair. You can read more about the upcoming changes on page 3. Make plans to attend our 16th annual Burgundy Ball Gala, featuring country music legend Lorrie Morgan, on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Oasis Hotel and Convention Center. Purchase tickets by calling 417-328-6318 . School is in session, and that means wellness checkups and vaccinations. Read page 5 for tips that will help your child be healthy. What is the best way to fight germs? Washing your hands! Check out page 7 and learn all five steps for optimal handwashing. Have you injured or torn your anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)? It is more common than you think. Approximately 200,000 ACL injuries are diagnosed every year. On page 8 we list some answers to key questions about this injury.
