A few weeks ago, we completed the new Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility and held a ribbon-cutting and open house for the community. The response was amazing! We had hundreds of area residents attend the event and tour the new 90-bed long-term care facility in Stockton. If you missed the event, but would like to see the facility, please call the facility at 417-276-5126 and schedule a tour. Check out the article on page 3 for more information about the facility. If you are looking for something healthy to do, see page 4 for a list of upcoming events. From a 5K/10K run to our golf tournament, we have lots of ways for you to become healthier and have fun too. Becoming more active—both physically and mentally—is not just a goal for younger people; seniors can stay fit too. Read the article “Staying Active” on pages 10 and 11 about several programs offered by CMH. Did you know that we have a free senior workout facility in Bolivar for area residents age 55 and older? Call the CMH Senior Health Center at 417-777-7171 and schedule a tour. About half of people over age 50 have varicose veins, and for many people they cause serious problems. On page 12, check out the article “Varicose Veins: What you can do about them” and learn how to manage them. The CMHWound and Hyperbaric Center offers free vein screenings periodically.
