CMH named 2018 Chamber of Commerce Large Business of the Year Citizens Memorial Hospital was named the 2018 Bolivar Chamber of Commerce Large Business of the Year. OakStar Bank was named Small Business of the Year. The awards are given based on growth, innovation, stability and community service. “The Chamber really appreciates the impact these two businesses have on our local economy,” says Jesse Ankrom, Chamber President. “Not only do they provide needed services in our community, but the jobs they provide and the involvement both of them have in our community programs and events makes such a positive mark on our area. We’re very thankful for their investment in Bolivar.” BABB RECEIVES 2018 GOVERNOR’S AWARD Donald J. Babb, CEO/Executive Director of Citizens Memorial Hospital/Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation, was presented with the 2018 Governor’s Quality Leadership Award during the Missouri-Kansas Quality Awards presentation banquet on Nov. 15, 2018. The award was given based on implementation, use and achievement of performance excellence principles in business; commitment to the core values of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and Missouri- Kansas Quality Award programs; and personal reputation and integrity. The award was presented by Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe. Ribbon-cutting held for new Lake Stockton facility Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the new 90-bed Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility on Jan. 26. The 50,292-square-foot facility replaces the previous facility built in 1975 on Owen Mill Road in Stockton. The new building is located at 1523 S. Third St., Stockton, and was built on 11.2 acres as part of CMH Stockton Medical Plaza, which also includes Stockton Family Medical Center, Stockton Rehabilitation Clinic and Stockton Home Medical Equipment. “We are extremely excited about this new facility,” says Donald J. Babb, CEO/Executive Director of Citizens Memorial Hospital/ Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. “The building design is a new concept in senior living called person- centered care.” The project cost $8.5 million and was built by Larry Snyder & Co., Ozark. The architect was Larry D. Nelson, Springfield. Funding for the project was provided through a loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
