Thankful to be a part of the CMH legacy I announced earlier this year that I would be retiring Dec. 31, 2021, after 39 years of service to Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) and Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. The hospital and foundation boards of directors have appointed Michael Calhoun as my successor, starting Jan. 1, 2022. Mike has worked for CMH for more than 20 years and most recently served as my chief operating officer for the hospital and clinics, since January 2020. Beverly Derrickson will continue as chief operating officer for CMH Foundation and will also be the special projects coordinator for the hospital. You can read more about the transition on page 3. There are no words to express how grateful I am to have spent nearly four decades working alongside all our wonderful employees, medical staff, volunteers and boards of directors as CMH has grown into the dynamic health care organization that it is today. I started working at CMH several months before we opened our doors in September 1982, and it has been truly amazing to see CMH’s progress, innovation and growth over the years. I am so thankful and humbled to have been a part of CMH’s incredible legacy. CMH will continue to focus on providing the exceptional, patient- centered care you have come to know and trust.
