Celebrating 40 years of great care This fall marks 40 years since Citizens Memorial Hospital opened on Sept. 28, 1982. CMH really is an amazing story, and we have a lot to celebrate from the past 40 years. CMH has exceeded everyone’s expectations with the expansive health care services we provide for the community. We opened with three physicians and 90 employees. Now we have close to 200 physicians and more than 2,000 employees. We invite you to help celebrate our 40th anniversary the week of Sept. 26. See page 4 for details. As we plan for the next 40 years and beyond, we recently announced the largest building project in CMH’s history. The $77 million renovation and expansion of the hospital will help CMH meet the growing needs of the communities we serve. As part of our plans for future emergency room expansion, all ER staff are now CMH employees. Read more about these initiatives on page 5. I encourage you to take an active role in maintaining your health.
