Our Lunch & Learn community education program will kick off the fall lineup with a session on “Living Well with Diabetes,” presented by board certified endocrinologist Heather Corn, M.D., on Sept. 7. You can check out the progress of the Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility construction project on Facebook by following @LSHCF. The new facility is located near Stockton Family Medical Center and is expected to be finished later this fall. In other news, CMH was named a level 2 STEMI Center by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. STEMI is a pretty serious heart attack that usually requires an angioplasty for treatment. CMH is the only STEMI Center between Springfield and Kansas City to receive the distinguished accreditation. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Check out our article on page 8 for steps women can take to reduce their risk for breast cancer.
