Three Bolivar R-I Schools juniors will participate in The Alliance for Healthcare Education during the 2026–27 school year. PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR HEALTHCARE EDUCATION Gray Matter Initiative creates nursing pathway in high school Through Bolivar Technical College’s Gray Matter Initiative, juniors and seniors can take college-level Anatomy and Physiology classes while still in high school — and at no cost. Students can save about $5,000 and finish a nursing career sooner. The first group’s success shows how early access, flexible delivery and local support can help students take meaningful first steps toward their nursing career. By finishing these courses early, students can apply to enter a nursing program right after graduation. The program also helps students find jobs close to home through local partners like Citizens Memorial Hospital. Medical Excellence Scholarship Given to students pursuing a healthcare career.
